About Belize

| | In a world of polluted air and water, one virginal place remains. A place where fresh air carries the fragrance of pine, flowers and the sea. A place where smog, contamination and toxins do not intrude. This magic land Belize, this earth as earth should be, this wonderful little country awaits closer than one imagines. Some of the most exciting destinations hide right under our noses. No need to look across the globe, just look a little south, two hours from Gateway Cities in the United States. On the Caribbean coast of Central America, between Mexico and Guatemala lies mother nature best kept secret. Come, launch the adventure of the lifetime. There’s plenty to do in Belize – why not start with the sea? The water’s great for sailing, windsurfing and fishing, not to forget Kite-surfing. And those sixteen miles of beaches along the peninsula of Placencia are all public - there’s no such thing as a private beach here so it’s all yours to stroll along and enjoy. Belize has a Barrier Reef as beauty as the Barrier reef in Australia. This English speaking country has the only Coral Atolls in the Caribbean Sea. Its a nonstop environmental adventure, some of the pristine lands and offshore cays have not felt human footprints for thousand years.
But the coastline is not the only natural attraction in Belize. The locals know that their greatest asset is all around them, to the extent that 46% of the land and marine territory is protected as wildlife sanctuaries and natural reserves
And as the country is so small, nowhere is more than a few hours drive away. Acres of jungle, tropical forest, pine savannah, the Maya mountains, waterfalls, caves and rivers….. As for wildlife: giant iguanas, crocodiles, howler monkeys, jaguars - you name it; they’ve got it. Each year more people discover Belize to snorkel, dive, fish, surf, or play amateur archeologist. Some do it all.
Couple this natural splendor with some of the most important Mayan ruins in Central America you’ll see why Belize is making a real name for itself as the eco-tourism destination for the discerning tourist. Kitesurfing Belize KSB |
